139 provides a safe environment in inner city Brisbane for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness to access a range of support services aimed at enhancing social inclusion. 139 is also creating opportunities for positive change by training and employing clients in social enterprises like catering and gardening.
This identity seeks to change the perception of the 139 Club from a building that “puts a roof over homeless people” to an expression of a proud, caring and inclusive Brisbane community.

The 139 logo acts as a marker of community. It is a door plaque that belongs to an entire city, and not a single “drop-in shelter”.
The lettering style is taken from Brisbane signage. It has a contemporary urban feel and grounds the identity locally.
Informally framed photographs of Brisbane buildings and skies show that we are all under the same sky, and that we are part of a proud Brisbane community.

Brisbane is a city with wide horizons and a love for the outdoors. With this in mind, 139 uses a landscape format when it is practical to do so.
In hues of blue, orange/pink, and yellow 139’s colour palette reflects Brisbane’s sky from dawn till dusk. These are used as solid colours or gradients.
Gotham for headings, and a combination of weights and styles of Adelle for copy combine to create clear hierarchy, and an accessible contemporary appearance.
